The best thing about Fall/Winter is boots. Today I wore my Cole Haan “Cooper Square” wingtip oxford boots. I don’t wear these a lot when it actually gets to snow because I live in a place where we get tons of snow that they then sand or salt to clear, and it could easily ruin the boot. But, snow is hopefully a ways off so I am making the most of it for fashion while I can and wearing all my good boots now!
It’s a ring that looks like a corset. I love it! Also love my bae’s fierce couture manicure holding the ring. Work it hand model! Lol!
At street festival and saw this gorgeous vintage skirt on sale. It’s from the 80s. It’s giving me a Picasso reference. Such vibrant color, geometry!
I’m gonna wear this Bob Mackie gown to go get me a gallon of milk, some sunflower seeds and a loaf of bread. And ya’ll will deal. This photo is from the recent exhibit “Inspiring Beauty” about the Ebony Fashion Fair. I saw it in Milwaukee but it is traveling all around the country. If you get a chance to see it, I highly recommend the show. It’s phenomenal and a great fashion history lesson.
Bought new glasses at Dior on a recent trip to Las Vegas. Finally got the prescription filled so I can wear them. I’m in love!
Foot sprain/spur means I’m stuck in a surgical shoe for a little while. Ugh. Never fear, I had to get out a glue gun, sequins, and some pearls for a make it work moment. We always gotta find a way to say a little something for fashion, dear hearts. *cackles*
Gardenias are a total Glamourtunist. They’re my favorite flower. So elegant, sophisticated, and refined. Jazz singer Billie Holiday, and the designers Coco Chanel and Patrick Kelly also loved gardenias. What flower do you most love or associate with fashion and style?
One day I’ll own and slay life in a pair of Helmut Lang jeans just like this! Werk! I want the vintage kind. By vintage I mean from the 90s. I remember being a teenager and thinking that Helmut Lang Jeans were the best thing ever, so that’s my obsession with one from that era. And also, the thought of the 90s as vintage. Ugh. Way to feel ancient!
I’m so in love with this Stella & Dot necklace I bought at a boutique near my home. I already have the look it should go with in mind. It is a bit shorter than I need, but a quick run to the jeweler for an extender will fix it right on up!
Wearing one of my favorite pieces of jewelry today. A mixed metal necklace with flat stones. The stones all look like rose quartz and moonstones. I’m going to pair it with my Balenciaga “work” bag (which one of my friends calls my “WERQ!” bag — I love that!) and then off to class I go. Whenever I wear it I pull it out of the closet and shout as did the effortlessly elegant Myrtle Snow in “American Horror Story: Coven,” “BALENCIAGAAAAA!” It cracks me up every time.
